The Fire Team was incorporated in 1968 as "Bonny Doon Volunteer Fire/Rescue, Inc." and has been designated as a charitable, non-profit corporation under the Internal Revenue Service Code 501(c)(3) since June 1971. The Board has the legal responsibility for managing the business affairs of the corporation, and thereby the Team. The legal ramifications of this are almost certainly more complicated than they ought to be, but the net effect is that the Board manages the Team's voluntary donation fiscal and legal affairs, while the Captains oversee Fire and Rescue operations and report to the Santa Cruz County Fire Department.

Board Meetings

Board meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month at 1:00pm at McDermott Station, 7276 Empire Grade Road (at Felton-Empire Road).
